RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT (OPTION 2)

Designed for VicUrban as a part of a larger residential and mixed use development on the site of the former Avondale Heights Secondary School, the second iteration of this project has 16 terrace houses and 24 apartments on a site less that 1 acre in area. The east and west side of this development are clearly delineated beween terrace and apartment models but the design of the whole site is treated in a singular fashion. A single roof pitch across the conceptually site connects the two storey terraces to the three level walk-up apartments. The material pallete of dark coloured bricks, natural timber and light coloured steel picket fencing is consistent throughout and distinguishes the development from the traditional cream and red brick buildings common to the suburb.
