Lake Tyers Health Centre

This building was designed to service the Lake Tyers communitu. Designed in close consultation with the community including the governing board, users, staff, auspicing organization representatives, Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) personnel through a series of design workshops over a long period.

During the design stage, reference was made to the recently built Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust building and many of its innovative construction methods were incorporated into the new Health Centre. By the end of this process, the community “owned” the design.

The Health Centre is now functioning well and we believe is well supported by the community.
